Founded in 1978, Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc. is the only national Vietnam veterans organization congressionally chartered and exclusively dedicated to Vietnam-era veterans and their families. VVA is organized as a not-for-profit corporation and is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(19) of the Internal Revenue Service Code.

FUNDING

Vietnam Veterans of America relies totally on private contributions for its revenue. VVA does not receive any funding from federal,state, or local government.

WHO ARE THE ASSOCIATES of VIETNAM VETERANS of AMERICA?

Anyone who is not a Vietnam Era military veteran. We also welcome those that are Era Veterans, as non-voting supportive members. We are an adjunct organization of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc.

WHEN WAS AVVA STARTED?

AVVA was incorporated in January 1999.

The mission of AVVA is to advance the work of VVA, Inc. through cooperative projects and/or programs; to facilitate,enhance and improve communication with our members and to the general public;and to continue legislative efforts to ensure the rights of and benefits for all veterans and their families.

AVVA is dedicated to the aggressive advancement of realistic goals, with integrity and in the spirit of unity, that reflect our commitment to Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc. all veterans, their families, and communities.
